Detroit pastor Faith Fowler is on a mission to help her city and to save the planet. She’s using donated exercise equipment and discarded tires to provide jobs and electricity. Cass Community United Methodist Church supports Cass Green Industries which has cleared thousands of tires from Detroit’s vacant lots and shredded tons of documents. Solar panels heat water for homeless people in nearby housing units. And the Cass Green Gym has weight machines and stationary bikes whose pedal power creates electricity.
